History We bought our farm in the Fall of 1984. My two young daughters and I were walking through the fields when one of my daughters asked (holding a weed in her hand) "What kind of flower is this?" I said it is not a flower, it is a weed. The other daughter said "It is too pretty to be a weed." From this, the idea to call our place WILDFLOWER FARM was born. When the lambs arrived, they took one look at the same field of wildflowers and saw LUNCH! The girls decided the only way to have any wildflowers on the farm was to name the lambs after WILDFLOWERS. The WILDFLOWER WOOL GROWERS are my friends and neighbors. I have been shearing sheep for them over the years. Most of them have very small flocks and raise them for the enjoyment rather than for commercial value. Most of them were throwing the wool out rather than go through the effort of marketing or processing it. I started thinking (being of Scotchish descent) this wool is too good to be thrown out ... and started seeing blankets. As a Vermont Yankee, I naturally turned to the artistry and craftsmanship of Chas. W. House and Sons of Unionville, CT to bring you my WILDFLOWER BLANKET.
